In the middle of his fifth NFL season, team captain and starting safety Quentin Lake has gone from being a Day 3 draft pick to one of the most important players for the Los Angeles Rams over the last few seasons. Lake was once again spectacular for the team on Sunday, as he recorded his second interception of the season in their win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Rams PR team mentioned that the interception was Lake's 11th defended pass in 2026, which marks the most by a Rams player through the first eight weeks of a season this century.

Lake's play was paramount in the victory, especially as cornerback Jaylen Watson and Trent McDuffie exited the contest due to injury. The Rams turned Lake's interception into their first score of the game, a field goal, and Lake's work helped the defense hold the opposition to nine points, keeping the Chargers out of the end zone.
In the win, Lake recorded seven total tackles to go with his pick. He now has three interceptions and 11 passes defensed on the season.
