Los Angeles Rams rookie Ty Simpson is the only quarterback from the 2026 draft class who has yet to sign his contract. Additionally, he’s the last player selected in the first round this year to sign a deal.
Fernando Mendoza signed his rookie deal with the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday and Drew Allar signed his deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Friday, leaving Simpson as the last QB left to put pen to paper.
There’s no reason for concern, of course. Rookie contracts are determined by the rookie wage scale, setting the value based on where a player is drafted. According to Spotrac, Simpson’s deal is expected to be worth $25.4 million for four years, with the fifth-year option available for the 2030 season.
The Rams are
set to report to training camp on Saturday, so it's highly likely that Simpson will sign his contract beforehand. With Mendoza's deal set, there's little reason for Simpson to put off signing any longer. The Rams' first training camp practice is scheduled for Sunday, which will be Simpson's first opportunity to get on the field at LMU.
Simpson was drafted by the Rams at No. 13 overall out of Alabama, a pick that surprised many people initially.
