It’s almost time for the Los Angeles Rams to kick off their 2026 season. They’ll do so on Thursday night against the San Francisco 49ers in what’s technically a home game … 8,000 miles from SoFi Stadium.
The Rams are “hosting” the 49ers in Melbourne, Australia, the first NFL game ever played on the continent. It’s a marquee matchup between two bitter rivals, which is the perfect way for these teams to get the new season started.
After wearing white jerseys all preseason, the Rams will go with a classic look for the regular-season opener. They’re wearing their royal blue jerseys and yellow pants on Thursday night, an iconic combination for this storied franchise.

The 49ers will contrast the Rams' colored jerseys
by wearing white uniforms on the road. They'll be in their white primaries to start the year, not their all-white throwbacks, so they'll pair those tops with gold pants.
Kickoff on Thursday night is set for 8:35 p.m. ET, which will be 10:35 a.m. Australia time on Friday morning.
