The Los Angeles Rams have an emerging playmaker in tight end Terrance Ferguson. On Monday night, he was excellent, as the team defeated the New York Giants
behind a strong performance from quarterback Matthew Stafford. Ferguson and his fellow pass catchers were one of the reasons Stafford was able to dominate, as they constantly got open, allowing the quarterback to pick apart the opposition through continuous ball distribution.However, things weren't smooth sailing the entire night. Ferguson suffered dropped passes that should've been hauled in by NFL standards. That didn't stop Stafford from coming back to the second-year player, as Ferguson put the cap on the contest with a late touchdown. On Wednesday, Stafford said he has confidence in his
emerging teammate and will continue to target him, despite the growing pains.
“I have tons of trust and confidence in all the guys that we have out there," said Stafford. "These guys have earned their spots and have earned the opportunity to get targets and passes thrown their way. I'm not going to hit everybody in stride all the time too. I'm going to miss some. Sometimes there's initial challenging or frustration in those moments but at the same time as football players, we're programmed to move on to the next one and believe in each other and trust each other and trust your fundamentals.
"That’s all he did on the touchdown catch and the other great plays he had too. He’s a bright spot for our team. He's a young player that's still coming into his own. He’s going to be a good player for a long time in this league. We’re happy to have him. I know that really all the guys believe in everybody and that's what makes this thing go.”
Ferguson finished the night strong, with his touchdown being the final score of the game. In total, he recorded six catches for 54 yards and the score. As he continues to grow within the offense, his pairing with starting tight end Colby Parkinson could give the Rams one of the best tandems in football.
