Before the Los Angeles Rams took on the Los Angeles Chargers in their preseason finale, the franchise made an unexpected roster move, trading second-year running back Jarquez Hunter to the Miami Dolphins in exchange for receiver Tutu Atwell.
Atwell, who played the last five seasons for the Rams, made the team's 53-man roster on Sunday. In the meantime, Hunter didn't make the Dolphins' roster and was waived by Miami just three days after being acquired.

That did not last long.
It was believed that both players would be prime cut candidates entering Sunday, had they remained on their original teams. Atwell, who knows the Rams' entire playbook, is a trusted
pass catcher who head coach Sean McVay continually advocates for. The trade allowed the Dolphins to move off Atwell's guaranteed deal for a non-guaranteed contract for Hunter.
As long as Hunter clears waivers, the Dolphins can sign him to their practice squad. As for Atwell, he was one of seven receivers to make the Rams, joining five tight ends to earn a roster spot.
If the Rams are interested in a reunion, they could claim him off waivers, or potentially even sign him to their practice squad if Hunter wants to return.
