The Los Angeles Rams are bringing two practice squad players with them to Denver for Sunday night’s game against the Broncos. The team announced on Saturday that it has elevated running back Dean Connors and linebacker Elias Neal from the practice squad.
Connors gets the promotion after the Rams placed Ronnie Rivers on injured reserve. Sean McVay said that Connors will only get snaps on offense if an injury to Kyren Williams or Blake Corum occurs, so he’ll contribute on special teams first and foremost.
Connors was a preseason standout for the Rams, and though he came up short of making the 53-man roster, he did earn a spot on the practice squad and now gets to suit up on game day, provided he’s active.
Neal adds depth at linebacker and he will
also help on special teams. This is his second elevation this season, so he can only be elevated one more time before hitting the limit for the season. After that, the Rams will need to sign him to the active roster if they want him to play in games.
The Rams and Broncos square off on Sunday night at 8:20 p.m. ET.
