The Los Angeles Rams didn't just welcome Myles Garrett back to practice on Wednesday. Terrance Ferguson also returned for the first time since injuring his ankle and landing on IR in Week 3.
Ferguson has missed the last five games with an ankle injury but he's on the verge of returning. The Rams opened his 21-day practice window and could now activate him at any time in the next three weeks. Sean McVay isn't sure when Ferguson will be activated, but it's a good sign that he's practicing again.
In his first day back at practice, Ferguson was officially listed as a limited participant. Like Garrett, he's working his way back from injury, and the Rams aren't going to rush him. They want to see a "return to performance," not just "return to play."

Ferguson is a key playmaker on offense, and will be even more important with Davante Adams on injured reserve. They play different positions, but Ferguson can operate like a wide receiver. He can split out wide, line up in the slot or play as a traditional in-line tight end.
He's a major part of the team's 13 personnel packages, and the Rams will really need him if Colby Parkinson is forced to miss another game with a rib injury; Parkinson missed Wednesday's practice to start the week.
