The Los Angeles Rams still have a lot of things to clean up after their win over the Chargers on Sunday, but Sean McVay will take any victory his team can get right now. He harped on the need to clean up penalties and the kickoff operation, while also acknowledging the offense wasn't good enough in the first half.
But as the game went on, the offense found a rhythm with the run and the defense continued to shut down the Chargers offense. In the locker room afterwards, McVay gave one of his patented victory speeches, praising the way his team stayed the course and didn't wilt after falling behind 9-3.
“Hey, that is a (expletive) great job finding a way," he said. "I cannot say enough about the way our defense started out that game. … That’s the way to
just stay the (expletive) course. It’s exactly what we wanted.”
McVay then handed out two game balls, both to defensive backs. He singled out Quentin Lake for his early interception, and then gave Trent McDuffie one for his second-half pick that really gave the Rams momentum.
