Byron Young is entering a contract year with the Los Angeles Rams, but that situation doesn't seem to concern him much.
The edge rusher is coming off a 12-sack, Pro Bowl season, his third in the league after entering the NFL as a rookie. If he replicates that production in 2026, he'd be positioned to enter a market where 18 edge rushers currently earn at least $20 million per season.
Despite the uncertainty, Young said he isn't pressing the issue.
"Yeah, it'd be nice to get a contract right now, but at the same time, I can't ask for nothing better than what I have right now," Young said, per The Athletic's Nate Atkins. "I'm playing with a team I love, with great coaches, I'm in the NFL and going into my fourth year."
Young isn't the only key Rams
player without a new deal heading into 2026, either. He joins wide receiver Puka Nacua, defensive lineman Kobie Turner, guards Steve Avila and Kevin Dotson, and right tackle Warren McClendon Jr. among Los Angeles players whose deals are set to expire. The Rams' offseason additions — including the trades for Myles Garrett and cornerback Trent McDuffie — have made retaining that group more complicated from a salary-cap standpoint.
Young, though, seems content to remain exactly where he is — for now.
"I love this team," Young said. "Whatever happens happens, but this is the team I want to be with."
