Myles Garrett has barely been on the field for the Los Angeles Rams since he was acquired in a trade in June, but he’s getting closer to a return. Having now missed the last four games while on IR, he’s technically eligible to be activated at any time.
Sean McVay indicated recently that Garrett likely won’t return to practice this week before the Rams play the Cardinals on Sunday, but Ian Rapoport of NFL Network thinks Week 7 could be a viable return target for the Rams star.
Here’s what Rapoport said on Tuesday during an appearance on the “Rich Eisen Show.”
“So this is Week 6,” Rapoport said. “My understanding was it was a six-week recovery from a knee surgery. He had the knee surgery on the Monday after Week 1, so Week 7 should be around when
he’s ready, which could mean practicing this week and then playing next week. Or it could mean somehow practicing this week and pl– like, we’re getting to the window.”

It’s not a major update or anything drastically different than what we’ve already heard, but it sounds like Week 7 is the most logical game for Garrett to come back. That week, the Rams face the Chargers at SoFi Stadium after playing the Cardinals at home this upcoming weekend.
Garrett is arguably the best defensive player in the league when healthy, so he’s going to make a world of difference for Los Angeles when he does come back. And hopefully, his return is sooner rather than later, given the Rams’ disappointing 2-3 record through five games.
