The Los Angeles Rams placed star defender Myles Garrett on injured reserve Thursday following surgery to repair his injured knee, which limited him in his Rams debut last week.
While on IR, Garrett will have to miss at least the next four games before he's eligible to return. The good news is that his surgery went well and he's already mobile. According to Michael J. Duarte of the California Post, head coach Sean McVay said Garrett is already walking without crutches and that "he's like Wolverine."

Gary Klein of the LA Times added that he's "healing fast" and that the Rams won't rush Garrett back after missing the four-game minimum.
While this is a positive sign, the real questions will revolve around Garrett's pain tolerance, comfort, and range of motion once he's able to return to football activities fully. As a result of the issue and procedure, Garrett will miss more than one game for the first time since the 2020 season. The last time Garrett failed to play in at least 14 games in a season was 2019.
Perhaps a player who prioritizes his health, as the reigning Defensive Player of the Year does, will be able to accelerate his recovery process to return for the toughest stretch of the season. His closest return date is October 18 when the Rams host the Arizona Cardinals.
