The Los Angeles Rams were finally able to find their kicker of the future – at least in theory – when they added Harrison Mevis in the middle of 2025. Mevis, who had yet to kick in an NFL game, became a permanent answer to their kicking issues, missing only one kick all year long.
As a result, the Rams parted ways with Joshua Karty. Karty, who had a strong rookie season, took a dramatic step back due to a variety of issues with his kicking style and the special teams unit. Karty would spend some time on the Rams' practice squad before finishing the season with the Arizona Cardinals.
On Tuesday, Karty picked up another shot to revitalize his career. ESPN's Adam Schefter reports Karty worked out for the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday.

The Titans' special teams are coached by former Rams special teams coordinator John Fassel. After making 85.3% of his 34 field goal attempts as a rookie, Karty's numbers drastically declined in 2025, making only 66.7% of his 15 attempts.
It's been theorized that Karty's development of the knuckleball kickoff, plus his slower stride on field goals, led to both misses and blocked kicks. Karty was perfect in the 2024 postseason, making four field goals and five extra points.
Following the 2025 season, the Rams cleaned house with their special teams staff, hiring Bubba Ventrone to rebuild the unit, keeping Mevis on board with a one-year tender.
