Aaron Donald won't be on the field when the Los Angeles Rams face the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne this week, but the team's other superstar defender will be. Sean McVay told reporters on Tuesday that Myles Garrett will indeed play in the opener against the 49ers.
Garrett has been dealing with knee swelling over the last month or so, missing part of training camp and both joint practices. He returned to practice on Sunday and is good to go for the first game of the season, McVay confirmed.
It'll be Garrett's debut with his new team after being traded from the Browns to the Rams in June.

Garrett will pair with Byron Young at outside linebacker, bookending what could be one
of the league's best defensive lines. With Donald out, Braden Fiske will maintain his starting role for at least this week, lining up alongside Kobie Turner and Poona Ford.
The Rams played it safe with Garrett and other injured players all summer, but they're now ready to unleash him in the first game of the season.
