There was simply no way the Los Angeles Rams were going to get Wesley Bailey on the practice squad if they cut him. It's why they had to keep him on the 53-man roster, ensuring the undrafted gem didn't get away like Willie Lampkin last year.
Bailey, a standout in the preseason, made the Rams' initial roster, the only undrafted rookie to do so for L.A. He was outstanding this summer, both in practice and the preseason, highlighted by an eye-popping 10-pressure performance against the Saints in the second game.
He only played two snaps in the preseason finale before getting pulled, which was a clear sign that he was going to make the team. The undrafted rookie out of Louisville has a terrific combination of length and athleticism on the edge, something
the Rams would've regretted losing had they cut him.
He's one of five edge rushers on the roster, behind Myles Garrett, Byron Young, Josaiah Stewart and Desjuan Johnson.
