The Los Angeles Rams only made five picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, and only three of them will be on the 53-man roster to start the year. The Rams announced their initial roster on Sunday before the cutdown deadline and defensive lineman Tim Keenan III did not make the team because he was cut.
Keenan was waived as part of final roster cuts on Sunday, failing to make the team for Week 1. He will be subject to waivers, and if he clears, the Rams could potentially bring him back on the practice squad. But if another team claims him, he will head to their 53-man roster.
The Rams used their final pick on Keenan, selecting him 232nd overall out of Alabama in the seventh round.
It doesn’t help that Aaron Donald announced his return about an hour before
the Rams’ roster was set, which certainly played a part in Keenan getting cut. But it’s likely the team will try to bring him back onto the practice squad.
It's worth noting that Keagen Trost also did not make the 53-man roster because he was placed on injured reserve.
The Rams are loaded on the defensive line with Donald coming back, as he's expected to be a starter alongside Poona Ford and Kobie Turner, with Braden Fiske, Ty Hamilton and Tyler Davis coming off the bench.
