The Los Angeles Rams don't go for two very much. Prior to last week's game against the Buffalo Bills, their last attempt was in 2024 and their most recent successful conversion was in 2023.
On Sunday, Sean McVay's hand was forced because Blake Grupe, the team's new kicker, was injured in the first quarter while making a tackle on kickoff coverage. Rather than letting punter Ethan Evans kick the PAT, McVay went for two and it couldn't have gone much worse.
Matthew Stafford tried to hit Davante Adams on a fade to the right side, but when that was covered up, he was forced to hold the ball and took a huge hit in the back from Josh Sweat. Stafford fumbled the ball and it was scooped up by L.J. Collier, who returned it to the Rams' 35-yard line, nearly
taking it the distance to put two points on the board for Arizona.
LJ Collier wanted to take the two-point conversion return all the way 😅

Here's a closer look at the huge hit Stafford took on the play, which easily could've led to an injury.

Fortunately, Jordan Whittington chased Collier down and prevented Arizona from getting an easy two points. And thankfully, Collier chose not to pitch the ball to one of his trailing teammates with much more speed than he has.
