It's entirely possible that the Los Angeles Rams will be without their starting left tackle next week against the Arizona Cardinals, but not because of an injury. After their loss to the Buffalo Bills on Monday night, Alaric Jackson punched edge rusher Bradley Chubb in the face.
The two got into an altercation on the field after Jackson swapped jerseys with another Bills player, and it escalated into Jackson throwing a punch at Chubb. It's unclear what led to the incident, but Jackson was the one who swung and he could be facing discipline from the league for it.
Jonathan Jones of The Athletic says the NFL will review video of Jackson's punch and determine whether it warrants a suspension.

History says Jackson is likely to be suspended for a game. Last season, Lions safety Brian Branch was suspended one game after he punched Chiefs receiver JuJu Smith-Schuster at the end of the game. 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw was just suspended one game for headbutting Ernest Jones in Sunday's game; Greenlaw was wearing a helmet, and Jones was not. Greenlaw was ejected for his actions and is appealing the suspension.
According to Jones, the league is likely to decide whether Jackson deserves a suspension by the end of Tuesday, which will give him enough time to appeal before Rams-Cardinals on Sunday.
If Jackson is suspended, it will be his second suspension since 2024. He was suspended two games to start the 2024 season due to a violation of the NFL's personal conduct policy. He could also be facing another suspension for his offseason arrest this year, though the league hasn't announced anything on that matter yet.
