Myles Garrett made his presence felt in his return from injured reserve.
With 2:20 left in the second quarter against the Washington Commanders, the Rams pass rusher sacked quarterback Jayden Daniels at the Washington 44-yard line for a loss of six yards. Garrett also knocked the ball loose on the play, and linebacker Omar Speights recovered at the Washington 46.

It was the first forced fumble of Garrett’s Rams tenure, and a sharp contrast to his debut. In Week 1, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year was held without a tackle, sack, QB hit, batted pass or forced fumble in a 27-7 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Garrett admitted afterward
that he wasn’t 100% healthy and called it “the worst version” of himself.
The Rams acquired Garrett in June in the biggest move of their offseason, sending Jared Verse and three draft picks to land him. A knee injury kept him out for most of training camp and the team’s two joint practices, and he has missed the past seven games after the Rams placed him on injured reserve.
Sunday’s strip-sack was the kind of impact play Los Angeles envisioned when it made the trade, and one they hope Garrett can build on as the rest of the season moves forward.
