Matthew Stafford is enjoying the benefits of having two running backs capable of doing just about everything in the Los Angeles Rams’ offense.
Speaking on The Pat McAfee Show after the Rams’ 35-21 win over the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 7, Stafford praised the tandem of Kyren Williams and Blake Corum, explaining how their versatility gives Los Angeles plenty of options offensively.
“I haven't had a tandem like this where they both can do everything,” Stafford said. “You usually have one big guy, one small guy, a big slow guy that can run over people and a small fast guy that can run around people. And this is a really unique instance in which we can call our entire offense with both those guys in the game.”

Neither Williams nor Corum would be considered "big" or "small" by any standards. Williams is 5-foot-9 and 207 pounds, while Corum is 5-foot-8 and 202 pounds.
The Rams have benefited from that versatility through the first seven games of the season. Williams leads the team with 731 scrimmage yards, including 492 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground. Corum has added 316 rushing yards and two touchdowns while averaging 4.9 yards per carry.
Both running backs delivered strong performances against the Raiders. Williams rushed for 99 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries, while Corum recorded 93 yards and a touchdown on 17 attempts. Their combined 192 rushing yards helped the Rams finish with 199 yards on the ground as a team.
Stafford joked that the similarities between the two backs can occasionally leave him unsure of which one is in the huddle.
“Sometimes I get in the huddle, I don't know which one of them's in the damn game. They look so much alike anyways,” Stafford said. “So, hey, we just go out there and play ball and those guys do what they do.”
Beyond the production from Williams and Corum, Stafford said the tandem has made the running game more enjoyable for the entire offense, particularly the offensive line.
“I know our guys up front love blocking in the run game for those guys 'cause they're making big plays,” Stafford said. “That's when football's fun, when everybody's getting involved. Both backs are touching it, the O-linemen are getting after it.”
