The New York Jets have signed former Los Angeles Rams linebacker Troy Reeder to their 53-man roster, SNY's Connor Hughes reports, giving New York a veteran presence from one of the NFL's most successful recent defenses.
Reeder, 32, spent parts of six seasons with the Rams across two stints, first from 2019 to 2021, then from 2023 to 2025, establishing himself as a reliable rotational piece and core special-teamer. Over that span, he totaled 324 tackles, five sacks and two interceptions, and was part of the Rams' Super Bowl LVI championship team.
His best individual season came in 2021, when he racked up 91 tackles and six tackles for loss across 17 games, including 10 starts, then played in all four of the Rams' postseason contests.
The Rams chose
not to bring Reeder back this offseason after his contract expired. Los Angeles instead invested in its inside linebacker room elsewhere, signing Nate Landman away from Atlanta and watching Omar Speights continue to develop into a starting-caliber presence. That left the position group looking notably different heading into the new campaign.
The Rams' current depth chart reflects that shift. Landman sits atop the chart alongside Speights, followed by Shaun Dolac, Elias Neal and Grant Stuard.
Reeder spent part of the offseason on the Detroit Lions' practice squad before the Jets added him to their practice squad ahead of the 2026 season. Now, he could see meaningful NFL snaps again for the first time the end of the 2025 season.
