Mike Trout has been the face of the Los Angeles Angels throughout his entire career, being a franchise pillar since his first full season in 2012. But starting in 2027, Trout and the Angels will enter a new era under the ownership of Stan Kroenke.
Kroenke, the Los Angeles Rams owner, is purchasing the Angels for an MLB-record $4 billion
, taking over the franchise from Arte Moreno, who bought the team in 2003.With Kroenke stepping in next year, Trout asked one Rams player about Kroenke and he heard nothing but good things.
“I reached out to one Ram player,” Trout said Tuesday. “I’m not going to drop any names but I spoke to one and he had some really good things to say.”

Trout says he’s “excited” about the “fresh start” that Kroenke will bring, pointing to the success his teams have had. Since 2021 alone, Kroenke-owned teams have won five championships, from the Rams’ Super Bowl to the Nuggets’ NBA title.
"Look, the track record -- it's there,” he said.
Shortstop Zach Neto also reached out to Rams players and were told that Kroenke will invest as needed.
Via Alden Gonzalez of ESPN:
Trout and Angels shortstop Zach Neto reached out to Rams players Tuesday to get a feel for Kroenke and were told, Neto said, that "he just wants what's important for us" and will invest in anything they need behind the scenes.
While Trout sounds like he wants to remain with the Angels through the duration of his current contract, one thing that won’t change with Kroenke’s ownership is his NFL allegiance. A diehard Eagles fan, Trout said he “will not” be wearing a Rams hat anytime soon.
