Former Los Angeles Rams right tackle Rob Havenstein retired from the NFL this past offseason, calling it a career after 11 great seasons with the franchise. Now, he’s transitioned into the next chapter of his life, which includes broadcasting preseason games and hunting.
On Thursday, Havenstein shared photos from his recent trip to Alaska, where he hunted and killed a massive Alaskan brown bear. Havenstein also wrote a message about the appreciation he gained from his trip, calling it a “truly remarkable hunt.”
He said it was always his dream to “chase incredible critters” after retiring from football, with an Alaskan brown bear being “the main goal.”
Former Rams lineman Austin Corbett and running back Jake Funk were among those to comment on Havenstein's
post, congratulating him on the hunt.
Current Rams cornerback Josh Wallace, who played with Havenstein last season, also commented: "If you see me with a bear, save the bear !!!"
Havenstein, 34, was a leader during his time with the Rams and one of the true franchise icons during its transition from St. Louis to Los Angeles.
