The Los Angeles Rams set their 53-man roster over a week ago, but all of the players who made the team aren’t able to suit up for every game. Each team can only have 48 players active on game day, meaning a handful of guys who may not even be injured must sit out.
Before kickoff in their season opener on Thursday night, the Rams released their list of inactives, revealing who won’t be in uniform against the San Francisco 49ers. Aaron Donald is not playing after staying back in L.A. to continue preparing for his return, and the Rams had no other injured players leading up to this game.
Therefore, all of their inactives are healthy scratches. With three quarterbacks on the 53-man roster, it's no surprise that only two are active. Ty Simpson will
not suit up but will be the emergency third quarterback behind Matthew Stafford and Stetson Bennett.
CJ Daniels and Tutu Atwell are both inactive, as are Bill Murray and Max Klare. With Keagen Trost on IR and Tim Keenan III cut, not a single Rams rookie draft pick is active.

That means Stetson Bennett is officially the QB2 to Matthew Stafford.
There are no surprises on the 49ers' list of inactives, either. James Thompson was the only player with an injury designation, but after being listed as questionable, he's officially active.
