The Los Angeles Rams lost both of their starting cornerbacks to injuries in the third quarter of Sunday’s game against the Chargers. Jaylen Watson left with a shoulder injury and was ruled out, while Trent McDuffie hurt his back and was listed as questionable for the rest of the game.
Sean McVay didn’t have “any sort of updates” on McDuffie after the game, but he didn’t sound overly concerned about the injury. He told reporters that McDuffie “looks like he’s feeling OK,” which is a good sign.
McDuffie injured his back while making a tackle in the backfield on the running back, causing him to limp off the field and go to the locker room for further evaluation. He did return to the sideline and did a postgame interview.
He told Sports Central LA
that he’s “feeling good” and didn’t show any signs of pain.
"My biggest goal today was to come out here with a lot of energy. I missed the guys the last two weeks... It felt good to be back!"

The Rams take on the Washington Commanders next Sunday, so McDuffie will have a full week to recover from his back injury.
After missing the last two games with a groin issue, it was good to see him back on the field, and hopefully he won't have to miss any additional time because of this new ailment.
McDuffie led the team with nine tackles and also had an interception in the 24-9 win over the Chargers on Sunday.
