The Philadelphia Eagles are currently in the middle of a tempestuous season that has culminated in a 2-5 record. From Jalen Hurts' medical situation to the ongoing injuries to DeVonta Smith and Saquon Barkley, the Eagles may be looking to gather assets for 2027 rather than compete this season.
Defensive tackle Moro Ojomo, who is in the final year of his rookie deal, has been a popular name as the Nov. 10 trade deadline approaches. Despite the interest, Philadelphia is not looking to trade Ojomo at this time, per NFL reporter Albert Breer.
The Eagles have gotten calls on DT Moro Ojomo, a rising star in a contract year. And that makes sense, given that the team has already paid Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis at his position. Still, the team has told
others that Ojomo is not available, and has at least given off the vibe that it’ll try to re-sign him, despite having Carter and Davis already on big deals. That said, other contract-year players like Hollywood Brown, Tariq Woolen and Dallas Goedert could be had. A Saquon Barkley trade seems less likely, especially with Barkley banged up.
The league has seen highly touted players such as Quenton Nelson and Jeffery Simmons traded in recent days, and many expect the Eagles to be sellers given their season's trajectory. Philadelphia will also have to consider the compensatory pick formula in any potential offers for Ojomo's services. If Ojomo leaves in free agency and signs a lucrative contract elsewhere, the Eagles could net a maximum third-round compensatory pick.
Ojomo appears to be here to stay for now, but with Jordan Davis and Jalen Carter making a combined $230 million at the position, extending him long-term will be difficult.
