Jalen Hurts saved his best work for the moment when the Philadelphia Eagles needed it most.
With Philadelphia trailing, no timeouts left, and less than two minutes remaining, Hurts led a nine-play, 65-yard drive that ended with a three-yard touchdown pass to Darius Cooper. The score came with nine seconds remaining and gave the Eagles a dramatic 24-20 lead over the Tennessee Titans. Hurts took the shotgun snap and found Cooper over the middle for the go-ahead score. Jake Elliott converted the extra point, completing a drive that covered 65 yards in 1 minute, 47 seconds.
Hurts responded in a clutch way after an uneven afternoon. The Eagles quarterback completed 26 of 37 passes for 264 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. One of those turnovers
was returned 92 yards by Titans safety Amani Hooker, placing Philadelphia in an early deficit.
Hurts never allowed those mistakes to decide the game.
He connected with DeVonta Smith for a 22-yard touchdown during the first half, then repeatedly converted critical throws as Philadelphia attempted to overcome injuries to Saquon Barkley and Dallas Goedert. Barkley returned after suffering a stinger, while Goedert was listed as questionable to return with a knee injury.

Hurts remained composed when Philadelphia received one final opportunity. With the clock working against him and no timeouts available, he moved the offense into scoring position and trusted Cooper with the game’s most important target. The final drive offered another example of why the Eagles trust Hurts in high-pressure situations. His afternoon was not perfect, but when Philadelphia needed a touchdown to avoid defeat, Hurts delivered.
