The Eagles will not face Caleb Williams on Monday Night Football. The Bears' opponent remains unsettled.
Chicago ruled Williams out for its Week 3 game against Philadelphia because of a hamstring injury. Backup Tyson Bagent, who cleared concussion protocol and fully participated in Saturday’s practice, is listed as questionable. If Bagent cannot play, veteran Case Keenum is Chicago’s other option.
Williams injured his hamstring in last Sunday’s 9-3 loss to Minnesota. Bagent replaced him and completed 5 of 9 passes for 54 yards. Bagent was then placed in concussion protocol, adding another complication to Chicago’s preparation. His return to practice gives the Bears a possible starter, but the questionable designation means they have not settled
his availability for Monday. For Vic Fangio’s defense, Williams’ absence changes part of the assignment. His ability to escape pressure and extend plays is difficult to reproduce. Still, the Eagles cannot build their plan around a presumed starter while Bagent’s status remains open.

Philadelphia also has to account for a Chicago rushing attack averaging 212.5 yards through two games. Whoever starts at quarterback, the Bears can use that ground game to stay ahead of the chains and ease the burden on the passing offense.
