The Philadelphia Eagles lost several young players on waivers Monday, but the organization will still have an opportunity to bring back much of its training camp roster. Twenty Eagles from Philadelphia's final round of roster cuts cleared waivers and are now free to negotiate contracts with the Eagles or any other NFL team. The group includes centers Jake Majors and Zeke Correll, defensive backs Maximus Pulley and Cole Wisniewski, wide receivers Samori Toure and Tahj Washington, running back Carson Steele and defensive linemen Gabe Hall and David Blay.
Philadelphia waived 26 players Sunday while establishing its initial 53-man roster.
Four players from that group weren't available to return after being claimed: offensive tackle Myles Hinton went
to Cincinnati, defensive back Kapena Gushiken landed with Indianapolis, offensive tackle Cameron Williams was claimed by Atlanta and tight end Cameron Latu went to New England.
For everyone else who cleared, Philadelphia can now begin negotiating practice-squad deals.

Philadelphia will have some difficult decisions because there are more potential returnees than available practice-squad spots. Majors should merit serious consideration after spending the offseason competing for an interior offensive line role. The former Texas center offers developmental depth behind Cam Jurgens, while Correll provides another center option.
The Eagles also lost Hinton and Williams to waiver claims, making retaining some of their remaining offensive line depth more important than it appeared immediately after Sunday's cuts. Pulley is another logical candidate. The young defensive back competed throughout training camp in a safety room that ultimately featured Andrew Mukuba, Marcus Epps and Michael Carter II on the initial roster.
Wisniewski also carries developmental value after Philadelphia selected the Texas Tech safety in the seventh round of the 2026 draft. Losing a recent draft pick without getting him onto the practice squad would provide little return on the team's spring investment.
James-Newby, another 2026 seventh-round pick, is in a similar position. He couldn't break through a crowded edge group featuring Jonathan Greenard, Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith Jr., Arnold Ebiketie and A.J. Epenesa, but clearing waivers gives Philadelphia an opportunity to continue his development. Bernard and Weru also present an interesting situation because of their International Player Pathway backgrounds. Both failed to make Philadelphia's initial roster after competing throughout the summer.
At wide receiver, Toure, Washington and Ezukanma survived the waiver process after Philadelphia chose DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, Hollywood Brown, Darius Cooper and Elijah Moore for its initial roster.
Steele could also return as insurance behind Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby and Will Shipley. Philadelphia has already reportedly agreed to bring veteran Dameon Pierce back on the practice squad, giving the Eagles another experienced option at running back.
Clearing waivers doesn't mean these players automatically return to Philadelphia. They are free to negotiate with all 32 teams, and another club could offer a practice-squad contract or an active-roster opportunity. Still, the Eagles now have access to most of the developmental players they hoped to sneak through waivers.
The next step for Howie Roseman and Philadelphia's personnel department will be to determine which players provide the best combination of development, positional insurance, and potential game-day elevation for the 2026 season.
