In a game with several big-name stars out due to injury, the Eagles should prepare to face Puka Nacua without a planned workload restriction when the Rams visit Lincoln Financial Field on Sunday.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Los Angeles does not intend to limit Nacua’s workload against Philadelphia. The receiver is set to return after missing the Rams’ previous two games, giving Matthew Stafford another dangerous option alongside Davante Adams.
Is Puka Nacua playing against the Eagles?
Nacua carries no game status designation after being listed as a full participant in Friday’s practice. He was listed as limited Wednesday and Thursday with a hip injury, while the Rams described the issue behind his two-game absence as groin soreness. His clearance established his availability. Sunday’s
report adds an important detail: Los Angeles plans to bring him back without limiting his workload, rather than using him strictly in a reduced role.
What his return means for Philadelphia
Nacua’s presence is trouble for an Eagles defense looking to rebound after Case Keenum threw two touchdown passes in Chicago. Pairing him with Adams gives Stafford two established receiving threats and forces Philadelphia to account for more than one primary target. Nacua can challenge coverage across the middle and turn completions into additional yardage, making communication and tackling particularly important.
The Eagles will also be without linebacker Zack Baun and safety Marcus Epps. Their replacements face a tough test against Sean McVay’s offense, and Nacua’s return adds another layer to Philadelphia’s coverage responsibilities.
