The Philadelphia Eagles have lost another member of their 2025 draft class on the waiver wire.
The Atlanta Falcons claimed offensive tackle Cameron Williams after Philadelphia waived him Sunday while reducing its roster to 53 players. Atlanta claimed three players Monday, with Williams joining former Jaguars linebacker Yasir Abdullah and former Seahawks edge rusher Jared Ivey.
Williams was Philadelphia's sixth-round selection, No. 207 overall, in the 2025 NFL draft after playing at Texas.
The 6-foot-6, 317-pound tackle was considered a developmental prospect with intriguing size and length when he entered the NFL. Williams started 15 games at right tackle during his final season at Texas, helping the Longhorns reach the College Football Playoff
semifinals. His rookie season was interrupted by a shoulder injury. Philadelphia placed Williams on injured reserve after Week 1 before eventually opening his practice window in December.
Williams returned for another opportunity this summer but couldn't earn a place on an Eagles offensive line that remains one of the deepest position groups on the roster. Philadelphia kept 10 offensive linemen on its initial 53, but neither Williams nor fellow 2025 sixth-round selection Myles Hinton made the group. Both were claimed Monday, with Cincinnati landing Hinton and Atlanta taking Williams.
The Eagles therefore won't have the opportunity to continue developing either player on the practice squad.
For Atlanta, Williams represents a low-risk opportunity to develop a 22-year-old tackle with starting experience against SEC competition and the physical profile teams covet at right tackle.
