Cam Jurgens appreciates his time with the Eagles, but his departure from Philadelphia came under circumstances that made an already significant transition even more complicated. Speaking Wednesday after his first practice without the red non-contact jersey, Jurgens described changing teams while working through concussion protocol.
“Has anybody been traded while in concussion protocol? It’s a crazy, whirlwind experience,” Jurgens said, according to Jeff Zrebiec.

Philadelphia sent Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to Baltimoreon Oct. 7 in exchange for a 2027 fifth-round pick and a 2028 second-round selection. The move ended his tenure with the Eagles
as Philadelphia continued reshaping its offensive line. Jurgens’ final stretch with the Eagles included a position change. According to Pro Football Focus, he played 187 snaps at left guard and 55 at center this season. Across 146 pass-blocking snaps, PFF charged him with 12 pressures allowed, including one sack. He also accumulated four penalties.
Those struggles provide context for the trade, but his performance in Baltimore will offer another measure of what Philadelphia surrendered. Jurgens said he is happy to return to center full time, which will help him rebuild consistency at the position where he established himself.
“Everything is new. I’m feeling better. I’m feeling more like myself,” Jurgens said.
His appreciation for Philadelphia came with excitement about the next chapter, not public criticism of his former team.
For the Eagles, the trade secured future draft capital while creating another immediate adjustment up front. Whether it proves beneficial will depend on both their ability to stabilize the line and what Jurgens becomes in Baltimore.
