The Philadelphia Eagles constructed their 17-player practice squad
with a combination of developmental prospects and veterans capable of handling immediate game-day roles. Philadelphia has sufficient active-roster depth at most positions, meaning early elevations could be driven by special teams or short-term injuries. Here is how the Eagles’ practice-squad players rank based on their likelihood of being elevated.1. Britain Covey, WR
Covey is the most established return specialist on the practice squad. Philadelphia may not want Cooper DeJean handling every return, making Covey an obvious elevation candidate when the matchup calls for a dedicated specialist.
2. Chance Campbell, LB
Campbell offers experience at linebacker and on special teams. His ability to handle multiple assignments
makes him a logical choice if the Eagles need another game-day defender.
3. Dameon Pierce, RB
Pierce has 44 career NFL starts and provides a physical running style. Philadelphia already has three active running backs, but Pierce would be the most natural replacement if one becomes unavailable.
4. Danny Gray, WR
Gray has game experience and can contribute on special teams. His speed would also give Philadelphia another vertical option if injuries affect the receiving corps.
5. John Ojukwu, T
Offensive tackle depth becomes valuable quickly during a 17-game season. Ojukwu’s experience and familiarity with the system could put him ahead of the other practice-squad linemen.
6. Gabe Hall, DT
Hall is entering his third year in the organization and understands Philadelphia’s defensive structure. He offers immediate depth if the Eagles need another interior lineman.
7. Carson Steele, RB
Steele’s power, receiving ability and special-teams potential make him more than a traditional running back. He could be elevated if Philadelphia wants an additional back who can handle multiple roles.
8. Jake Majors, C/G
Majors provides interior versatility and could dress as emergency depth at center and guard. An injury to Cam Jurgens or one of the reserve interior linemen would increase his chances.
9. Maximus Pulley, S
Pulley impressed during the preseason and can contribute on coverage units. Special teams provide his clearest path to an early elevation.
10. Kiran Amegadjie, OL
Amegadjie has the draft pedigree and physical tools to develop into a contributor. His readiness after two injury-affected seasons will determine how quickly Philadelphia trusts him on game day.
11. Robert Longerbeam, CB
Longerbeam produced encouraging preseason film with Baltimore. He gives the Eagles a developmental cornerback who could contribute on special teams if elevated.
12. Jaydon Blue, RB
Blue’s speed makes him an intriguing offensive option, but he must learn a new system and establish special-teams value before moving ahead of Pierce or Steele.
13. Mason Reiger, OLB
Reiger showed pass-rushing ability during the preseason with Miami. Philadelphia’s depth on the edge allows the rookie time to develop.
14. Cole Wisniewski, S
Wisniewski missed much of training camp, limiting his opportunity to establish a role. His size and versatility remain attractive long-term traits.
15. Keyshawn James-Newby, OLB
James-Newby finished the preseason with a sack against Cincinnati, but the Eagles have five outside linebackers on the active roster.
16. Uar Bernard, DT
Bernard remains at the beginning of his football development. The Eagles can use the practice squad to improve his technique without rushing him into action.
17. Joshua Weru, OLB
Weru’s athletic potential is significant, but his limited football experience makes 2026 primarily a developmental season.
