DeVonta Smith will lead the Eagles’ receivers, but the rotation behind him could change weekly.
As the No. 1 wideout, Smith should remain on the field in nearly every personnel grouping. Hollywood Brown is the best option to stretch the defense vertically, while Dontayvion Wicks can align outside or move into the slot, and looks prime for a breakout season.
If his hamstring is fully healed, Makai Lemon should offer versatility in a defined role that complements Smith and Wicks. The first-round pick can play inside or outside and may eventually become Philadelphia’s second-most targeted receiver.
Elijah Moore offers quickness and experience from the slot. His role could be tied to specific third-down packages and plays designed to create yards after
the catch. Darius Cooper earned his roster spot through consistent work and could contribute on special teams while waiting for offensive opportunities.
A reasonable opening rotation would place Smith above 80% of the offensive snaps, with Brown and Wicks in the 50% to 65% range. Lemon could begin around 30% before his workload increases. Moore may receive 15 to 25 snaps based on the package. It's Smith's time to earn a Pro Bowl nod, and while he'll draw the opposing team's top defenders, Sean Mannion does not need to declare one permanent No. 2 receiver. Philadelphia can use each player’s strengths while allowing the hierarchy to develop through production.
