It's also fair to wonder how much creative freedom he truly had while operating within Nick Sirianni's offensive philosophy. Elite Eagles red-zone efficiency
If there was one undeniable strength, it came inside the opponent's 20-yard line. The Eagles consistently ranked among the NFL's best in red-zone touchdown percentage, converting drives into touchdowns at an elite rate that hovered between 71 and 81 percent throughout the season. Once Philadelphia crossed the goal line's doorstep, Patullo's offense usually finished the job. That's a trait worth preserving.

The offense occasionally felt stagnant between the 20s, but it rarely beat itself. Patullo's unit consistently protected the football, finishing among the league leaders in fewest giveaways. Winning the turnover battle remains one of the fastest paths to victory in today's NFL, and the Eagles excelled in that area.
Sean Mannion would be wise to maintain that emphasis while searching for more explosive plays.
The deep ball was still dangerous.
One criticism followed Philadelphia throughout the season. The passing game often felt too conservative on standard downs. Ironically, when the Eagles dialed up vertical shots, they were remarkably successful. Midseason tracking showed Jalen Hurts producing a 131.8 passer rating on passes traveling more than 20 yards downfield, throwing six touchdowns without an interception on those attempts. The challenge moving forward isn't abandoning the deep ball. It's finding more opportunities to unleash it.
Continuity mattered for Jalen Hurts.
Elevating Patullo from within wasn't without benefits. Rather than forcing Hurts to learn another entirely new offensive language, the Eagles maintained much of their existing terminology and structure. That continuity helped preserve Hurts' command of the offense, chemistry with the offensive line, and confidence in managing games. As Mannion introduces new wrinkles, maintaining that familiarity could continue paying dividends.
The players never stopped believing.
Perhaps the strongest endorsement of Patullo came from inside the locker room. Even as outside criticism intensified, veterans such as Jordan Mailata and Saquon Barkley publicly defended their offensive coordinator. Offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland echoed similar sentiments, pointing to execution issues, missed blocking assignments, and breakdowns in blitz pickup as contributing to the offense's inconsistency rather than to flawed play design.
That doesn't erase the frustrations of Patullo's tenure. It does, however, suggest the problems weren't always as simple as blaming the man holding the play sheet. As Sean Mannion begins shaping the Eagles' offense, he'll undoubtedly put his own stamp on the system, but if he chooses to carry over Philadelphia's red-zone efficiency, commitment to protecting the football, vertical passing success, and the continuity that benefited Jalen Hurts, he'll be building on a foundation that wasn't nearly as flawed as many remember.
