The extreme heat could affect Philadelphia’s depth, substitution patterns, and ability to maintain its usual level of physicality for four quarters.
Offensive and defensive linemen are especially vulnerable because of their size and the physical demands at the line of scrimmage. Philadelphia may need to rotate its defensive tackles and edge rushers more frequently
to keep players fresh. That could place additional pressure on Vic Fangio’s depth after outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard was ruled out with a pectoral injury.
