The Panthers activated right tackle Taylor Moton, defensive tackle Tershawn “Turk” Wharton, and running back Trevor Etienne on Saturday, adding three players to their 53-man roster before Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
Carolina also elevated cornerback Robert Rochell and running back Anthony Tyus III from the practice squad. All three activated players practiced fully throughout the week and remain listed as questionable for Sunday.
Moton is returning after blood clots kept him out through Carolina’s first four games. Wharton has been recovering from a neck injury, while Etienne has been working back from an ankle injury. Moton’s activation is particularly significant for Carolina’s protection. Rookie right tackle Monroe Freeling is listed
as doubtful with a knee injury, leaving the Panthers without another option on Bryce Young’s right side.

For Philadelphia, Moton’s potential return changes the pass-rush matchup: they get Jonathan Greenard back but play without Jalyx Hunt. The Eagles need to disrupt Young without allowing him to escape pressure and extend plays.
Wharton’s addition gives Carolina another interior defensive option as the Eagles prepare to start Tanner McKee. Philadelphia is also without Saquon Barkley, with Dameon Pierce and Carson Steele positioned to carry the backfield workload.
Etienne and Tyus provide options behind Chuba Hubbard, with A.J. Dillon ruled out because of an ankle injury. Rochell adds depth to Carolina’s secondary. Moton, Wharton, and Etienne are now eligible to play, though their questionable designations leave their final availability uncertain. Sunday’s inactive list will confirm who suits up.
Philadelphia enters at 2-3 and is trying to end a three-game losing streak. Carolina is 2-2 and coming off its bye, with Saturday’s moves giving it additional options for the trip to Lincoln Financial Field.
