The Philadelphia Eagles are trading two-time Pro Bowl offensive lineman Cam Jurgens and a 2027 seventh-round pick to the Baltimore Ravens for a 2027 fifth-round selection and a 2028 second-round pick, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
The reported deal represents another major change for a Philadelphia offensive line already moving forward without Lane Johnson, who announced his retirement Tuesday.
Jurgens, the 51st overall selection in the 2022 NFL draft, developed into Jason Kelce’s successor at center after beginning his starting career at right guard. He earned Pro Bowl selections in 2024 and 2025 and helped Philadelphia win Super Bowl LIX behind an offensive line that powered Saquon Barkley to 2,005 regular-season rushing yards in 2024.
The Eagles moved Jurgens to left guard this season, with Drew Kendall taking over at center. Jurgens started each of Philadelphia’s first four games before self-reporting concussion symptoms Monday and entering the NFL’s concussion protocol. His availability for Baltimore will depend upon completing the league’s required return-to-participation process.
Philadelphia’s return is built around a premium 2028 selection. The Eagles also improve their position in the 2027 draft by exchanging a seventh-rounder for Baltimore’s fifth-round pick.
The compensation gives general manager Howie Roseman additional flexibility as he manages one of the league’s youngest rosters. A future second-round selection could eventually become an inexpensive starter, be packaged to move in a draft or provide ammunition for another trade.
The immediate cost is substantial. Philadelphia is losing a 27-year-old, two-time Pro Bowl selection under contract through 2029 only one day after Johnson’s retirement. The Eagles must now determine whether Kendall remains at center and how Chris Kuper will configure an offensive line that has lost two accomplished veterans during the same week.
Jurgens leaves Philadelphia after appearing in 62 regular-season games and making 45 starts.
