Sean Mannion remains the Eagles’ offensive play-caller, and Nick Sirianni expressed confidence in him Monday while acknowledging Philadelphia needs better results.
When asked directly whether Mannion was still calling plays, Sirianni said, “Yes.” According to The Philadelphia Inquirer’s Jeff McLane, Sirianni said he has confidence in all his coaches, including Mannion, and will spend the next few days identifying ways to improve the offense. The endorsement follows a 25-14 loss to Carolina that extended Philadelphia’s losing streak to four games and dropped the Eagles to 2-4. With Tanner McKee starting at quarterback, Philadelphia generated 222 total yards, rushed for just 35 yards and punted eight times. McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215
yards and a touchdown without an interception, but the Eagles averaged only 4.8 yards per attempt. Three sacks cost another 28 yards, while 11 penalties for 84 yards compounded the execution problems.

There were productive stretches. DeVonta Smith and Dallas Goedert combined for 13 catches and 136 yards, and Smith’s fourth-quarter touchdown cut the lead to 19-14. However, the next offensive possession unraveled with a bad snap, and an eight-yard deflected punt helped set up Carolina’s final touchdown.
Mannion now faces the challenge of building a more consistent offense without Jalen Hurts, who is out for the season, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. Injuries elsewhere have further complicated the task, particularly in the backfield.
Sirianni’s response establishes continuity in play-calling responsibilities as the team prepares for Dallas. The pressure remains on Mannion and the entire offensive staff to turn that backing into sustained drives, fewer mistakes, and enough production to stop Philadelphia’s slide.
