The Philadelphia Eagles listed two players as limited on their first official injury report of the regular season.
Outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard was listed as limited with a pectoral injury, while rookie tight end Eli Stowers was listed as limited with a hamstring injury as the Eagles began preparing for Sunday’s opener against the Washington Commanders. Greenard’s participation was the most significant development after he missed all of training camp and the preseason. The former Pro Bowl pass rusher suffered a pectoral injury while lifting shortly before camp and practiced Wednesday for the first time since Philadelphia acquired him from the Minnesota Vikings.
The Eagles will monitor how Greenard’s body responds before determining whether
he can make his Philadelphia debut Sunday. His conditioning and comfort within Vic Fangio’s defense will also factor into that decision after his extended absence. Even if Greenard plays, Philadelphia could limit his workload and continue rotating Jalyx Hunt, Nolan Smith Jr., Arnold Ebiketie and A.J. Epenesa along the edge.

Stowers returned to practice after missing time with his hamstring injury. The second-round pick is listed behind Dallas Goedert and Johnny Mundt on Philadelphia’s unofficial depth chart, but his size and receiving ability could eventually give Sean Mannion another versatile option. No Eagles player was listed as a nonparticipant Wednesday, providing an encouraging starting point for Week 1.
Thursday and Friday’s participation reports will better indicate Greenard and Stowers’ progress. The Eagles will assign their final game-status designations after Friday’s practice.
