The Eagles appear all in with Jalen Hurts regardless of what sports radio or ESPN pundits would like to believe. On Wednesday, Philadelphia general manager Howie Roseman disagreed with the narrative that the 2026 season will determine Jalen Hurts’ future with the organization. During an appearance on SportsRadio 94WIP, Roseman was asked whether the coming season should be viewed as a make-or-break campaign for Philadelphia’s starting quarterback.
“All the guy does is win football games,” Roseman said, according to 94WIP.
Hurts has faced increased scrutiny after Philadelphia’s offense struggled to find consistency during the 2025 season. The Eagles still finished 11-6 and won the NFC East, but their attempt to defend their Super Bowl title ended
with a 23-19 loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round. Philadelphia responded by making another change at offensive coordinator, hiring Sean Mannion to oversee a unit built around Hurts, Saquon Barkley and a talented collection of skill-position players.
Roseman’s position is expertly rooted in Hurts’ complete body of work. Since becoming the full-time starter, Hurts has led the Eagles to the playoffs in five consecutive seasons. That run includes two NFC championships, three division titles and a victory in Super Bowl LIX, when Hurts earned the game’s Most Valuable Player award and outplayed Patrick Mahomes.
There are legitimate questions surrounding the quarterback entering the 2026 season. Hurts must improve his timing within Mannion’s offense, create more consistent opportunities over the middle in the passing game and help Philadelphia avoid the extended stretches of uneven offensive production that defined the previous season.
Those questions, however, are different from suggesting Hurts must save his job.
Roseman’s comments make it clear the Eagles continue to view Hurts as a winning quarterback and organizational cornerstone. Philadelphia expects improvement from its entire offense, but the general manager is not treating every difficult stretch as evidence that the franchise needs a different quarterback.
