Drew Kendall is active for Sunday’s game against the Panthers, giving the Eagles another option along the offensive line as Tanner McKee takes over at quarterback. Kendall entered the game listed as questionable with a knee injury after being listed as limited in Thursday’s and Friday’s practices. He missed last week’s loss to Jacksonville in London.
His availability is welcome news for a Philadelphia line that remains without Landon Dickerson. The Eagles ruled out Dickerson on Saturday, along with cornerback Jakorian Bennett and tight ends Grant Calcaterra and Eli Stowers.
Kendall’s return gives offensive line coach Chris Kuper more interior flexibility. Philadelphia needs cleaner protection and a more dependable running game as McKee makes his
first start of the season.
Being active does not establish Kendall’s starting assignment or workload. It does give the Eagles another available center as they try to end a three-game losing streak against Carolina.
