The Philadelphia Eagles’ reworked receiving corps is beginning to establish a clear identity.
DeVonta Smith remains the central figure. He caught 10 passes for 117 yards and a touchdown during the 24-20 victory over Tennessee, repeatedly creating separation when Jalen Hurts needed a dependable option. Dontayvion Wicks is emerging as Philadelphia’s late-down chain mover. He caught all five of his third- and fourth-down targets for 74 yards and five first downs against the Titans.
Darius Cooper supplied the biggest play, catching the winning 3-yard touchdown with nine seconds remaining. The score was the first of his NFL career. Hurts completed passes to nine receivers for only the fourth time since becoming Philadelphia’s full-time starter in 2021.
It was his first such performance since 2022. The distribution reflected an offense using more full-progression concepts and asking Hurts to move beyond his initial read.
Questions remain about the usage rate for Hollywood Brown, Makai Lemon, and Elijah Moore, but Smith and Wicks have established the most consistent early roles. Cooper’s emergence gives Philadelphia another receiver who can contribute in critical situations.
The Eagles no longer have to force the offense through one matchup. Their depth is creating answers across the formation.
