The Philadelphia Eagles are bringing back a familiar defensive lineman after a brief absence. Philadelphia announced Wednesday that it signed defensive tackle Gabe Hall to the practice squad. Hall returns nine days after the Eagles released him while creating room for other additions.
The 25-year-old initially joined Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent out of Baylor in 2024. At 6-foot-6 and 295 pounds, Hall possesses the length and athletic traits to line up at multiple spots along the defensive front. He ran the 40-yard dash in 5.03 seconds at the 2024 NFL Scouting Combine. Hall appeared in two regular-season games for the Eagles in 2025 but did not record a tackle. He remained with the organization through the offseason and returned to compete
for a roster spot during training camp.

Although Hall did not make the initial 53-man roster, Philadelphia signed him to its practice squad following final cuts. The Eagles released him Sept. 22 as they rearranged the group to accommodate several veteran additions.
His preseason production reminded everyone of his developmental value. Hall recorded five tackles and one pass breakup over three games, including four tackles against the New England Patriots. Hall’s familiarity with Vic Fangio’s defensive system should allow him to resume his role without an extended adjustment period. He supplies another practice option behind a defensive tackle rotation led by Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis and Moro Ojomo.
