The surroundings are different for Cam Jurgens. The position offers familiarity and a chance to return to his Pro Bowl form. Jurgens said Wednesday that he is happy to be back at center full time, according to Jeff Zrebiec, as the veteran works toward his Ravens debut after being traded from Philadelphia.
“Everything is new. I’m feeling better. I’m feeling more like myself,” Jurgens said.
Baltimore acquired Jurgens to address a position depleted by injuries that forced rookie Vega Ioane to move to center. Getting Jurgens available would give the Ravens another experienced option in the middle and flexibility in arranging the rest of their line. The return to center follows a difficult opening stretch in Philadelphia. Jurgens has played 242 offensive
snaps for the Eagles this season, 187 at left guard and 55 at center, according to Pro Football Focus. PFF charged him with 12 pressures allowed and one sack across 146 pass-blocking snaps. Those totals cover both positions rather than isolating his work at center.
The Ravens are betting that improved health and a familiar assignment can help him produce better results.
Jurgens practiced Wednesday without the red non-contact jersey he had worn while working through concussion protocol. That was encouraging, though his comments and jersey change alone don't clear him for Sunday against Cincinnati.

Baltimore needs greater offensive consistency after its 13-10 loss to Cleveland. Derrick Henry managed 58 yards on 17 carries in that game, underscoring the need to create more room in the running game.
Jurgens’ next step is to turn his growing comfort into availability—and eventually the stability Baltimore sought when it made the trade.
