The Philadelphia Eagles continue to deal with significant injuries on both sides of the football, with six players missing Thursday's practice ahead of Sunday's NFC East matchup against the Washington Commanders.
Running back Saquon Barkley (hamstring/back), wide receivers DeVonta Smith (hamstring), Dontayvion Wicks (ankle) and Britain Covey (knee), linebacker Jihaad Campbell (hamstring/quad) and cornerback Jonathan Jones (hamstring) were all listed as nonparticipants for the second consecutive day. Unlike Wednesday, when Philadelphia held a walkthrough and estimated participation, Thursday's designations followed the team's first full practice of the week.
Barkley's continued absence is particularly concerning after he suffered a back injury
during Monday night's 38-21 loss to Dallas. The veteran returned from a hamstring injury that previously sidelined him for two games, but he couldn't finish the Cowboys matchup.
Philadelphia's backfield is already depleted after the Eagles placed Dameon Pierce on injured reserve Wednesday. Elijah Mitchell and Jaydon Blue are the only other running backs on the active roster, making Barkley's availability critical for an offense struggling to establish consistency.

The Eagles are also facing significant questions at wide receiver. Smith and Wicks missed Monday's loss, while Covey exited with a knee injury. Their continued absence could create additional opportunities for rookie Makai Lemon, who caught his first career touchdown against Dallas.
Defensively, Philadelphia listed six players as limited participants, including Jonathan Greenard (ankle), Jalyx Hunt (knee/ankle), Nolan Smith (concussion), Moro Ojomo (neck), Michael Carter II (abdomen) and Marcus Epps (jaw/concussion evaluation). Epps was a new addition to the report, while Nolan Smith's continued limited participation represents progress as he works through the concussion protocol.
The Eagles received encouraging news elsewhere, with Zack Baun, Jakorian Bennett, Landon Dickerson, Arnold Ebiketie, Dallas Goedert, Drew Kendall, Smael Mondon Jr. and Tyler Steen practicing fully.
Mondon's improvement from limited participation Wednesday to full participation Thursday was another positive development for a defense dealing with linebacker injuries.
Philadelphia enters Sunday's matchup at 2-5, with five straight losses. The Eagles will release their final injury report Friday, when the status of Barkley, Smith, Wicks, and several defensive contributors should become clearer.
