The Eagles’ injury list is growing, now including Jordan Davis.
Philadelphia ruled out the defensive tackle with an ankle injury during Sunday’s matchup against the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles trailed 25-14 late in the game, putting them on the verge of a fourth consecutive loss after opening the season with two victories.
Davis’ departure added another significant absence as Philadelphia’s depleted roster took more punishment. Running back Carson Steele exited with an arm injury, while edge rusher Nolan Smith left after taking a hit during a pass rush and subsequently headed to the locker room.

The Eagles already entered the matchup without running backs Saquon Barkley, Will Shipley and Tank Bigsby,
along with edge rushers Jalyx Hunt and A.J. Epenesa. Steele’s departure left Dameon Pierce and Jaydon Blue as Philadelphia’s available running backs. Losing Davis further strains a defensive front already dealing with limited edge personnel. His absence removes a central piece of Philadelphia’s interior rotation and puts more responsibility on the remaining defensive tackles to control the line of scrimmage.
The Eagles did not immediately announce additional details about the severity of Davis’ ankle injury. His availability now becomes another concern heading into a three-game NFC East stretch against Dallas, Washington, and the Giants.
For a team struggling to stop its slide, the injuries continue to complicate any path back to stability.
