The Philadelphia Eagles won't get an opportunity to continue developing offensive lineman Myles Hinton on their practice squad. According to NFL Communications, the Cincinnati Bengals claimed Hinton off waivers Monday, one day after Philadelphia waived the second-year offensive tackle while establishing its initial 53-man roster.
Hinton was Philadelphia's sixth-round pick, No. 191 overall, in the 2025 NFL draft after playing at Michigan and Stanford. The 6-foot-6, 323-pound lineman entered the league with experience on both sides of the offensive line, making 20 collegiate starts at right tackle and 11 at left tackle.
He allowed just one sack over 256 pass-blocking snaps during his final season at Michigan.
Philadelphia continued experimenting
with Hinton during his second offseason, giving him work at guard before shifting him back outside. Ultimately, the Eagles elected to keep 10 offensive linemen on their initial roster, including Jordan Mailata, Lane Johnson, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Markel Bell, Fred Johnson, Willie Lampkin, Drew Kendall and Micah Morris. Hinton's departure is notable because Philadelphia invested a draft pick in him only a year ago and could have viewed him as a developmental practice-squad option had he cleared waivers.
Instead, Cincinnati gets a 24-year-old tackle with outstanding size and starting experience at both tackle spots. For the Eagles, the claim further thins the group of developmental offensive linemen available to return after final cuts.
