Authorities have arrested a Philadelphia man accused of participating in the July break-in at the home of Eagles running back Saquon Barkley. Jabir Parker, 24, was taken into custody Sept. 1 by Lower Merion Township police with assistance from several state and federal agencies, according to NBC10 Philadelphia. Parker faces multiple felony charges, including burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. He remained in custody on $1 million bail and was scheduled to return to court Sept. 10.
The Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office accused Parker of participating in two completed burglaries and an attempted third break-in across Montgomery and Chester counties.
Prosecutors did not publicly identify the owner of the Malvern residence targeted
July 18. However, the date and location matched the break-in at Barkley’s home, and a source involved with the investigation told NBC10 that Parker was connected to that incident. Barkley and his family were inside when an intruder allegedly entered the residence shortly after 5 a.m. They were awakened by suspicious sounds and called police. The suspects fled before officers arrived, and no injuries were reported.
