Zach Ertz is officially back in uniform for the Eagles.
Philadelphia elevated the veteran tight end and linebacker Chance Campbell from the practice squad for Monday night’s game against the Chicago Bears. This puts Ertz on the game-day roster for the first time since he returned to the franchise last week. Ertz last played for the Eagles on Oct. 14, 2021, before being traded to Arizona. Nearly five years later, Philadelphia brought him back after Dallas Goedert suffered an MCL sprain in the Week 2 win at Tennessee. Goedert has been ruled out against Chicago. The elevation gives Jalen Hurts an experienced receiving option at a position hit hard by injuries. Ertz knows the quarterback and the organization, but his workload remains an open question
after joining the team Tuesday. He acknowledged Saturday that he felt some rust after more than nine months away from game action.

Johnny Mundt and E.J. Jenkins are also options at tight end. How Philadelphia divides the snaps will offer the first indication of what Ertz can provide while Goedert is sidelined. Campbell’s elevation adds linebacker depth for the game. Defensive back Kenny Moore II, another recent practice squad addition, was not elevated.
