Lamar Jackson remains day-to-day with a left ankle injury, but Ravens coach Jesse Minter said Jackson could return to practice as Baltimore prepares to host Cincinnati on Sunday.
According to ESPN’s Jamison Hensley, Minter said Jackson could “potentially” practice this week. The quarterback has missed two consecutive games after injuring his ankle against Tennessee on Oct. 4, when Tyler Huntley took over for the second half. Jackson’s absence has now covered two full games and half of another, with Baltimore going 2-1 in those contests. Huntley helped seal the Tennessee win and led an overtime win in Atlanta before the Ravens’ offense stalled in Sunday’s 13-10 loss to Cleveland.
Baltimore scored on its first two possessions against the Browns
but failed to score again. Huntley completed 19 of 31 passes for 165 yards and a touchdown without an interception, while the Ravens finished with 235 total yards and 13 first downs. That performance adds urgency to the quarterback situation without changing the need for Jackson to be ready physically. Baltimore cannot assume his availability based on the day-to-day designation, which has remained in place during his absence. Minter’s comments establish the possibility of practice participation, not clearance to play.
Wednesday’s participation report will provide the first meaningful indication of Jackson’s progress. Whether he returns, how much work he receives, and how his ankle responds will help clarify the outlook against Cincinnati.
At 4-2, the Ravens face a rested Bengals team before upcoming matchups with Buffalo and Jacksonville. Jackson’s return would bring Baltimore's most important offensive player back, but until his practice status changes, the Ravens must prepare for another Huntley start.
